Pentagon says 16 US troops died in Afghan crash US forces have recovered the bodies of 16 American troops killed in this week's crash of a US helicopter in eastern Afghanistan, the Pentagon said today.
“At this point, we have recovered all 16 bodies of those servicemen who were on board the MH-47 helicopter that crashed on Tuesday.
Positive identification and family notification are under way and expected to be completed soon,” Marine Corps Lt. Gen. James Conway, director of operations for the US military's Joint Staff, told a Pentagon briefing.
