A Spice Girls backlash is growing following the lowest point in the Girl Power group's career when they were booed at an award ceremony in Spain.

Just hours after they were humiliated by catcalls in Barcelona, they were ousted by the Teletubbies as the British bookies' favourites for the Christmas number one.

The now managerless fivesome were hissed and booed at the Onda awards when they kept an audience of Spain's top stars and entertainment executives waiting for about three minutes.

One report suggested the Spice Girls only went on stage when they were pushed out to the introductory strains of their hit, Spice Up Your Life.
