Trevor Rees-Jones (29), only survivor of the crash which killed Princess Diana last August, resigned yesterday from his job with the Harrods store owner Mohamed alFayed, amid speculation that he may now strike a book deal.
Publishing sources said the bodyguard's account of Diana and Dodi Fayed's final days together could command an advance of at least £500,000.
Rees-Jones said he wanted to "move forward" with his life. The bodyguard is known to have been unhappy with the way al-Fayed bounced him into an interview with the Mir- ror newspaper last month.

The end result gave the impression of a pose, the magazine admitted.
