Bob Geldof made an on-air apology during his second day as a DJ on London station Xfm - after announcing that Ian Dury had died.
He made the announcement after receiving a phone message from a "distressed" caller saying Dury had died, which he took to be genuine. Geldof finished his slot with Dury's hit Reasons To Be Cheerful.
As soon as it became apparent the information was untrue, Geldof headed back into the studio to apologise.

Claims that Bulgarian king Boris III was poisoned to death in 1943 just after he returned from meeting Hitler have been proved wrong by a autopsy report published yesterday. Boris's gravediggers removed the dead king's heart and preserved it in formaldehyde. Tests carried out on the heart by, among others, professors Ivan Moskov and Stoitcho Radanov proved he died from a heart attack, the 24 Tchassa newspaper said.
