Prince Charles and his longtime love Camilla Parker Bowles yesterday made one of their first public appearances together since Diana's death.

The couple arrived 20 minutes apart at a synagogue in St John's Wood, north London, for the wedding of socialite Santa Palmer Tomkinson, the oldest daughter of the prince's closest friends.

Camilla and her children, Tom and Laura, stepped out of a chauffeur-driven limousine.

The prince was in an almost identical royal car, with Prince Harry and niece Zara Phillips.

A Russian film about President Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky could feature Ms Lewinsky herself and Russian ultra-nationalist leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the film's director has said. Russian filmmaker Alexander Sorokin revealed his plans yesterday to film the story which, he said, was indicative of our times, with Mr Clinton as a "victim" of his own inability to express his human feelings. The film, based on the report by special prosecutor Kenneth Starr, is budgeted at $2 million but could cost as much as $10 million if Ms Lewinsky agrees to star in the movie. Sorokin, close to Mr Zhirinovsky's Liberal Democrat party, said the film would receive financial backing from financiers close to the party and that Mr Zhirinovsky was due to make a screen appearance.
