ASTROLOGER Russell Grant has bought the Lordship of the Manor of Ashford, Middlesex, where he owns a house. He paid £14,700 for the title at a sale held by the Manorial Society of Great Britain.
Steven Spielberg is to use cash raised by his film Schindler's List to fund studies at Cambridge University. The university has been awarded £33,300 to establish a visiting lectureship in Modern Jewish Studies.
The autographed working manuscript of Albert Einstein's theory of relativity has been sold privately for an undisclosed sum to the Jacob E. Safra Philanthropic Foundation, which is to donate it to the Israel Museum.
The 72 page manuscript is the earliest surviving document of Einstein's theory of relativity containing the famous equation E=MC2 (energy equals mass multiplied by the velocity of light squared).
Hungary's police and army expect to benefit when Madonna arrives in Budapest to continue shooting of the film Evita. Although police will officially guard various locations, they also expect to be paid well for moonlighting as security guards.
