EX FILM STAR Brigitte Bardot (61) has lashed out at a butcher for setting up a horse meat shop to profit from the mad cow scare, and called on Britons to show their "nobleness" and boycott the trade.

In "an open letter to the English people, to gentlemen and to those who have always protected and loved horses," she said she was horrified by the case of Bob Walker, who has set up one of the first horse meat shops in Britain since the second World War.

Former EastEnders star Letitia Dean has been fined £750 and disqualified from driving for 30 months after she pleaded guilty to driving with over twice the alcohol limit.

The actress, who played landlady Sharon Mitchell in the BBC soap, was stopped last March after police saw her car hit a kerb.
