KILAUREN GIBB was surfing the Internet when a picture of singer Joni Mitchell convinced her that the musician was the birth mother she had sought for years, the Toronto Star reported yesterday.

Gibb has just returned to Toronto with her son Marlin (3) after a 19-day reunion with Mitchell at the singer's Los Angeles home.

Mitchell had been searching for the daughter she gave up for adoption 32 years ago when she was poor and alone.

The notorious criminal, Charles Sobhraj, released after 20 years in Indian prisons for murder and robbery, arrived in Paris yesterday and was immediately charge with poisoning a group of students in India over a decade ago. India ordered him deported in February.

The former wife of Joseph Kennedy (44) is pursuing an appeal of their marriage annulment with Catholic officials in Rome, Boston newspapers reported.
