A British photographer branded a stalker by the Princess of Wales has been forced to postpone a legal challenge to a ban on approaching her because he has been filed for criminal damage.

Martin Steaning started a 12 week jail sentence on Thursday just as he was preparing to contest an injunction obtained by Diana banning him from coming within 300 metres of her.

Stenning's lawyer, Benedict Birnberg said the challenge to the injunction would be delayed until Stenning was released.

Stenning threw a brick through the window of a van in February after an argument with a driver when he was working as a motorcycle dispatch rider.

The poems come from a note book which Eliot sold to his patron, the New York lawyer, John Quinn, in 1922, a few months before his most famous work,

The Waste Land, was published.

Eliot said the verses "ought never to be printed" and the notebook disappeared until 1968, three years after the poet's death, when it surfaced in the Berg Collection of the New York Public Library.
