The Church of Ireland Bishop of Tuam, the Right Rev John Neill, has accused people of using their religious beliefs and traditions over the past few weeks in a way that was divisive and dishonouring to the name of Jesus Christ.
"The constant recital of hurts and wrongs, the endless articulation of rights arising out of past divisions, the persistent mentioning of fears - from whatever source they come - is a way that is doomed from the start," he told worshippers on Achill Island yesterday.
