A large passenger bus crashed in thick fog in the Peruvian Andes on Friday evening, killing 19 people.
The bus, carrying more than 50 people, fell off a cliff on a mountain road into a 490 foot (150 meter)-deep gorge, in the mining region of Cerro de Pasco in central Peru, police said today..
"There were 19 deaths, including children," police spokesman Luis Rojas told journalists.
The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m local time on a highway about 185 miles (300 km) northwest of the capital Lima, injuring more than 30 passengers who were taken to nearby hospitals, police said.

Police said they were working to pull the bus out of the gorge, where 24 people died two years ago in a similar accident.
