A petrol bomb was thrown at a house at Clarina Avenue, Ballinacurra-Weston, at about 4.15 a.m. yesterday in what is believed to be the 10th incident in a family feud in the Southill-Weston area of Limerick.
Gardai said the missile bounced off the house and went under the family car, which was badly damaged. Two adults and two children were asleep in the house at the time, but did not awaken until gardai arrived.
Meanwhile, another man was arrested in Limerick city yesterday and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act as part of a crackdown on crime. A man and a woman who were among those arrested in a dawn raid on Monday have been released.
Three men are still being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. A handgun and items of luxury goods were among property recovered during Monday's raids on shops and private residences.
