Gardaí in Dublin are investigating the theft of two lorries and three mini-diggers from a construction firm in the south of the city yesterday morning.
A garda spokesperson said thieves broke into the yard of ‘Allround Construction’ on the Tallaght Road in Templeogue, close to the M50/Templeogue junction, at around 6am.
A blue Iveco lorry with the registration 99 D 56817 was stolen along with a red Iveco lorry with the registration 99 KE 10452. This vehicle was previously owned by the Royal Mail and the logo is still visible on the doors. Three biege Takeuchi 125 mini diggers, three breakers and a number of con saws were also taken.
Each lorry had a trailer towing a digger attached and gardaí believe the thieves used their own transport to take the third digger.
Gardaí also believe it is likely the vehicles would have used the M50 or N81 (Tallaght Road) to leave the scene.
Detectives at Terenure are appealing to anyone who saw these vehicles in transit or with any information as to the whereabouts of the property to contact them at 01-6666411 or at any garda station.
