The Central Statistics Office has urged anyone with an uncollected census form to return it using a free post service that has been put in place.

Yesterday was the final day in which enumerators were collecting the forms.

Deirdre Cullen, senior statistician at the Central Statistics Office, said: “Enumerators will finish collections on May 9th. If your enumerator has not collected the form by this date, please return the form to us as soon as possible by posting it back free of charge. Any forms returned to us by post will be treated with the same confidentiality as those collected by enumerators.”

“We hope to begin processing the data as soon as possible so it is crucial that all census forms are returned to us immediately. Preliminary results from Census 2011 will be available by the end of June and the first full results will be published within a year,” she said.
