The mother of a Moldovan man who was killed in Dublin three weeks ago has appealed to the public for information that might help solve the case.

Vladislav Garuta (28) was assaulted in Islandbridge on November 27th and later died of his injuries at St James's Hospital. He had been living in Blanchardstown, Dublin for the past year and worked in the construction industry in the city.

Mr Garuta had been attending a party in Islandbridge on November 27th and was assaulted on the street some time between 9-9.30pm. He then made his way to an apartment complex at Bridgewater Quay some 200 metres away to seek help. His attackers pursued him, and he was assaulted again between 10-10.30pm.

The victim was only identified last week. A fake passport among his belongings led gardaí to believe initially that he was a Lithuanian. Speaking through an interpreter yesterday, Galina Garuta pleaded with people to provide information to gardaí.Anyone with information is asked to contact Kilmainham Garda station on 01-6669750.
