Warsaw - Poland's ex-communists are due to start coalition talks with all parties of the future parliament today, Mr Leszek Miller, head of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) which won Sunday's election said yesterday.
"The SLD leadership has chosen three people to consult with all parties present in parliament in order to create a strong government, capable of resolving the biggest problems in Poland," Mr Miller said.
The SLD alliance with the Labor Union (UP) won a clear victory on Sunday, with 41.4 percent of the vote and 219 seats out of 460 in parliament, but fell short of a full majority.
