More than 600 police officers in Northern Ireland are in dispute with their union, the Police Federation, over funding for compensation claims running into millions of pounds, the High Court in Belfast heard yesterday.
They claim they have been told that unless they join a group action being taken by the federation's legal advisers, Edwards and Co, they will not get backing.
The officers want Bogue and McNulty to represent them. Their representative, former Det Const Trevor McIlwrath, was given leave to apply for a judicial review of the federation's decision.
