Police in Northern Ireland have launched two separate murder investigations after two men in their 50s were found dead in Co Tyrone and Co Derry.

The body of Mr Joseph Black (53), was found in a house on Lambeth Way, Coleraine, Co Derry, on Saturday morning. Mr Black lived alone. No motive for his killing has been established.

In Strabane, Co Tyrone, police were called to a house on the Ballycolman estate on Saturday night where they recovered the body of a man. He had sustained severe head injuries. Two people were arrested in connection with his death. It is believed there could be a domestic motive for the killing.

Meanwhile, a man was shot in the stomach in the Docks area of Belfast on Friday night as he cycled along Garmoyle Street. The 45-year-old man was described as being in a stable condition in hospital yesterday. No motive has yet been established for the attack.
