A police officer was today recovering in hospital after he was struck by a car which failed to stop at a checkpoint in Fermanagh.
Two other officers who were in patrol cars at the checkpoint in Crocknagroff in Rossleigh were also injured.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the officer had been carrying out a routine vehicle inspection at 2.35am as part of Operation Road Safe.
"An approaching car failed to stop. A police officer on foot was then struck by the car and two police cars were also struck," said a spokesman.
The male driver of the car, who is in his 20s, was arrested. The car had not been stolen.
The police officer was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries are not said to be serious. Two other police officers were also treated for their injuries.
The PSNI in Enniskillen have appealed to anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
