O’Donnell at banking inquiry to watch Boucher evidence

O’Donnell, his son Blake, and legal team invited into public gallery by Mattie McGrath

Former solicitor Brian O'Donnell is attending the banking inquiry this morning where Bank of Ireland chief executive Richie Boucher gives evidence.

Mr O’Donnell and his son Blake will be in the public gallery as Mr Boucher gives evidence.

Last week Mr O’Donnell handed the keys of the family’s former home at Gorse Hill in Killiney to Mr Boucher in a symbolic gesture. The property was repossessed by receivers acting for the bank last Wednesday at the end of a long-running legal process.

Mr O’Donnell and his son Blake were invited to watch the inquiry by Independent TD Mattie McGrath.

The family will be joined by their solicitors and a member of the self-styled New Land League Jerry Beades.

Members in the public gallery are refrained from commenting on proceedings.

Chairman Ciaran Lynch is expected to reinforce that point this morning.
