THE Taoiseach, Mr Bruton has indicated Government willingness to accept a Fianna Fail Bill which would facilitate the adoption of Chinese babies.

The Fianna Fail spokesman on equality and law reform, Dr Michael Woods, said last night he will now seek Government time in the Dail to debate his proposals.

"The Bill will amend the Adoption Act 1991 to enable Irish couples, who are suitable and eligible under normal adoption criteria in Ireland, to adopt Chinese children and to have them recognised and registered as valid adoptions under our law," Mr Woods said.
