Seán Crowe was first elected to the Dáil in 2002 and lost his seat in 2007. He served on South Dublin County Council from 2008 and regained a Dáil seat in the constituency in 2011. During the 1990s Crowe was the head of the Sinn Féin mission to the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation at Dublin Castle and was a member of Sinn Féin’s talks team. He represented the party in the multi-party negotiations that led up the Good Friday agreement. He is a former member of the Sinn Féin Ard Chomhairle (national executive).
