Poll shows increase in support for Government parties

Fianna Fáil unchanged and Sinn Féin down in latest Sunday Business Post survey

Support for the Coalition parties has increased in the wake of the same-sex marriage referendum, according to a Red C opinion poll to be published in the Sunday Business Post.

Fine Gael is up three points to 28 per cent while it’s partner in Government the Labour Party is up two points to 10 per cent.

After a week where it welcomed new TD Bobby Aylward to the Dáil and lost Senator Averil Power, Fianna Fáil’s support remains unchanged on 19 per cent.

But Sinn Féin drops one point to 21 per cent while support for Independents and smaller parties is down four points to 22 per cent.
