A new opinion poll shows that three quarters of voters blame the government for consumer rip-offs.
The poll also indicates a drop in support for Fianna Fáil. The majority of those surveyed said a Fine Gael/Labour coalition was the most acceptable form of government to run the country.
The opinion poll, published in today's Sunday Business Post, shows that 89 per cent of those asked believe they are being ripped off on a daily basis and the vast majority, 76 per cent, feel that the government is mainly to blame.
Support for Fianna Fáil is down five points to 32 per cent since the last Red C/ Sunday Business Postpoll in March.
Support for Fine Gael is running at 25 per cent which ais a gain of three points. Labour's vote is unchanged at 13 per cent and Sinn Féin support is up one point at 10 per cent.
When asked about various coalition options 62 per cent of those surveyed said they would find a Fine Gael/Labour acceptable to govern the country - an increase of 7 per cent since March. The current Fianna Fáil/PD coalition is acceptable to 46 per cent of voters, a drop of five points.
