It's either a scam or a treat, depending on your perspective. You want to buy Kenny Rogers's greatest hits, so you have to fork out for a double-album that has All The Best on one CD and After Dark, his new album, on a second. Nice one EMI! So what do you get from the silver-tongued and silver-haired Mr Rogers? Lucille, Ruby, Is- lands In The Stream and The Gambler, as expected. Great for sing-songs, if nothing else. As for the second CD, the best cuts are the time-proven love songs: Ain't No Sun- shine, Let It Be Me, You Don't Know Me, and How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You). Sweet, this album sure is - like a double-dose of saccharine.
