A middle-aged Offaly man appeared at Tullamore District Court yesterday charged with possession of child pornography.
Mr Robert Lennon, Killeenmore, Killeigh, Tullamore, was charged that on June 28th, 1999, at Killeen more, he knowingly had in his possession child pornography, contrary to Section 6(1) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998.
Det Garda Declan O'Brien gave evidence of arresting the defendant at his home at 7.15 a.m. He added the defendant had replied "not guilty" to the charge.
Judge John Neilan granted bail to Mr Lennon and adjourned the case until June 6th.
