Lisbon - Portuguese Prime Minister Mr Antonio Guterres, whose Socialist Party came just one seat short of an absolute majority in elections earlier this month, named a new government yesterday.
Mr Guterres drew heavily on experienced members of the previous government, reappointing Mr Jaime Gama as Foreign Minister, naming Mr Joaquim Pina Moura Economy and Finance Minister and keeping Mr Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues in charge of the social security system, which is undergoing major reform.
