Dublin City Council have obstructed the publicity campaign for a march in support of the "Rossport Five" this Saturday, according to campaigners for the men.
Speaking this morning, Labour spokesman on Energy Tommy Broughan said Dublin City Council had not allowed activists to erect posters advertising the march in the city centre.
"It's regrettable that Mr Eoin Keegan and others have prevented this. We've had many other demos where there have been posters up for a number of days even in non-election situations," he said.
A spokeswoman for Dublin City Council told ireland.comthat decisions on posters in the city centre were not made on the basis of the nature of the group applying but were made in an effort to protect the environment.
"With the exception of elections, no groups are permitted to erect posters on lampposts. This decision was taken to preserve the visual and environmental outlook of the city," she said.
The march leaves Parnell Square at 2pm, and demonstrators will march to a rally outside Leinster House.
The campaigners also repeated their calls on Shell to immediately lift their injunction against the jailed men and for the public to join the campaign. The men have been in Cloverhill prison for 90 days.
Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources Noel Dempsey is due to attend an Oireachtas committee meeting tomorrow to discuss the development of the pipeline.
