US Secretary of State Colin Powell will travel to Kuwait and Iraq after attending today's talks in Geneva on Iraq's future, a US statement said.
It will be his first visit to Iraq, which has been under US occupation since US forces overthrew the government of President Saddam Hussein in April.
"In Iraq, he will meet with Iraqis and with members of the Coalition Provisional Authority in order to see first hand the progress being made by the international community and by the Iraqi people in rebuilding their nation," State Department spokesman Mr Richard Boucher said in the statement.
