Limerick is to host a round of the Irish National Powerboat Championships this summer, it was announced yesterday. It is the first time Limerick will hold the event, which will take place on May 6th on the river Shannon during the city’s annual May Riverfest celebrations.
Riverfest will run from May 4th-7th. There will be late-night bar extensions – subject to licence – across the city, entertainment venues throughout the weekend, live theatre, holistic relaxation events in the city’s parks and a continental fair with street entertainers, face painters and stilt walkers.
Other key events during that bank holiday weekend include the Rabo Pro 12 Munster v Ulster rugby clash, and the Great Limerick Run.
