THE executive of the Public Relations Consultants' Association has been asked to draw up proposals about the tendering process for Government contracts.
This motion led to an acrimonious debate at the association's annual meeting on December 5th when some members claimed that they had tendered for contracts knowing that they had no hope of being successful because of "lack of inside support".
The association, representing 33 firms which operate in the Irish market, heard complaints' about the cost of tendering for government and semi state projects, the inconsistency in briefs, and the number of agencies being invited to tender for such contracts.
