The next European elections will take place in Ireland on Friday, June 11th, 1999. In this context the European Parliament Office in Ireland is running a series of pre-election information sessions at European Union House. These sessions, which run from 10.30am and conclude at 2.00pm, are held on Fridays.
The programme includes a short video on the role of the European Parliament, a tour of the European Public Information Centre, presentations on EU citizens' rights, how to assert these rights, European election procedures and the big EU issues now facing Ireland.
Groups representing any community or civic association may apply. Those from remote or disadvantaged areas are given priority. The costs are met by the European Parliament. Telephone 01-6057900 for an application form and further information.
