SOFIA - Sofia's respected opposition mayor, Mr Stefan Sofianski, was sworn in yesterday to head an interim cabinet until after elections in April. He immediately warned Bulgarians that he could offer no smooth ride out of economic chaos.
"At the moment the country is in severe economic crisis, from which we can escape only at the price of many efforts, not only from one person and one cabinet but from all of us," Mr Sofianski told reporters after the swearing in ceremony.
He said the first big step had been taken with an all party declaration on principles for the interim cabinet's handling of the crisis, signed by political leaders on Tuesday.
