President among mourners at funeral of Enda O'Rourke

The Taoiseach and President Mary McAleese were among the mourners who attended the funeral today of Mr Enda O'Rourke, husband of the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mrs Mary O'Rourke.

Mr O'Rourke, a retired businessman, died on Tuesday in the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin after suffering a severe stroke on Sunday.

Among the mourners who attended the funeral in the Church of Our Lady at Coosan outside Athlone were Mr Ahern, President McAleese and the Mayor of Galway as well as seven members of the cabinet and politicians from all parties.

Mr O'Rourke was survived by is survived by wife Mary and their two children Feargal and Aengus.

Mr O'Rourke had been managing director of Midland Oil.
