The President, Mrs McAleese, attended a church service yesterday to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in the Church of Ireland church of St Brigid in Castleknock, Dublin.
The minister was the Rev Robert Herron, Presbyterian minister of Trinity, Omagh and Gillygooley, who with other clergy organised the public act of worship on the streets of Omagh after the bombing.
St Brigid's Church is the local parish church for Aras an Uachtarain, and the President's visit is in response to an invitation from the rector, Canon Paul Colton, at the time of her inauguration.
