The President, Mrs McAleese, arrives in Warsaw this evening on a two-day state visit to Poland.
On Wednesday afternoon, she will depart for Slovakia for a state visit to Bratislava. She will return to Dublin on Friday evening.
The President, accompanied by her husband, Dr Martin McAleese, and the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Mr Ó Cuív, will be guest of honour at a reception for the Irish community in Warsaw tonight.
Tomorrow she will be welcomed by President Kwasniewski and, after a number of engagements during the day, will be guest of honour at a state dinner hosted by the Polish President. On Wednesday, after a business breakfast in the capital, she will travel to Lublin.
On Thursday, she will be welcomed to Slovakia by President Schuster and will attend a state dinner in Bratislava.
On Friday she will be guest of honour at a breakfast hosted by Prime Minister Dzurinda. A number of Irish business people are travelling to the two capitals for the visits to promote Irish business opportunities.
