DAMMAM, Saudi Arabia - The lawyer for the family of an Australian nurse murdered in Saudi Arabia complained yesterday of pressure on his clients to change their mind and grant mercy if two British nurses on trial are found guilty.

Family members of the Britons held a third meeting in as many days with Ms Deborah Parry and Ms Lucille McLauchlan, who face beheading if convicted.

The defence counsel sent a letter appealing for mercy from the family of Ms Yvonne Gilford to the British press instead of directly to her brother, Frank, the lawyer said.
