Bangkok - Pressure mounted yesterday for the frontrunner in Thailand's general election campaign, Mr Thaksin Shinawatra, to withdraw from the race after the national anti-corruption agency indicted him for false asset declarations.
Mr Thaksin and his party have led the Prime Minister, Mr Chuan Leekpai, and his ruling Democrats for most of this year, but opinion polls suggest attitudes may be changing after the National Counter Corruption Commission (NCCC) indicted Mr Thaksin on Tuesday.
