Johannesburg - A priest shot dead a man during a scuffle in an Apostolic Faith Mission church in Alexandria township in Johannesburg, police said yesterday.
A 25-year-old man ran into the church with a knife while the priest was celebrating Mass on Saturday evening, a police spokesman said, and tried to stab him. The priest allegedly pulled out a gun and fired several shots at his assailant.
Police arrested the priest and are considering a charge of murder.
