A priest has been attacked by two men armed with a hammer after they broke into his home in Cork city.
Two men in their 20s raided the house in the Glen area in the north of the city at around 4 a.m. this morning, according to gardaí.
The pair assaulted the priest with a claw hammer before making off with a mobile phone and other possessions.
The priest, who is in his 50s, was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. He was not seriously injured and was later discharged.
