Information on a computer concerning Limerick prison officers and to which prisoners had access, is to be disclosed to the three officers lowing an agreement with State officials, the High Court was told yesterday. Earlier this week, the three officers claimed prisoners had accessed the computer, which was originally in the prison governor's office but had been moved to the prison library. It was claimed the computer contained information about prison officers in Limerick prison. Mr Angus Kirwan, Mr Alan Kavanagh and Mr John A.
Ryan claimed they feared for their safety through prisoners having access to their files. They brought High Court proceedings because they were not satisfied the prison authorities had told them of all the information on the computer. Yesterday, Mr Michael McMahon SC, for the three prison officers, said agreement had been reached with the State. All information on the computer will be made available to the officers and the State will disclose those persons who have or could have gained access.
