Fianna Fail's spokesman on Prisoner Affairs, Mr Eamon O Cuiv, yesterday called on the Government to review the Transfer of Sentenced Persons Act.
"Only three individuals have received transfers as a result of the Act, despite its coming into effect nearly a year ago," he said.
He described the role IRA prisoners had played in achieving and maintaining the ceasefire as "important" and said in order to get the IRA to renew its ceasefire confidence building measures were necessary.
