I was put in an institution shortly after I was born... I've never felt part of society. We were always told we were nobody. It's great to see the crowd here today, but it won't bring back my lifeMy time in an institution still affects me. Today's march means people believe us.
All of these years of suffering in silence. Now we can speak out
This was a hugely symbolic day, bringing everyone together to protest what happened and to call for justice. What went on in the institutions was truly shocking
This was such a release for people. I came up from Portarlington. You see the walking wounded in the town, who suffered abuse and it was never dealt with
I'm here to stand up and be counted. People might not have believed us in the past, but they do now. I'm still dealing with what happened to me then, every day
