PSNI arrest two after Co Antrim gang attack

A man is being treated in hospital today after being viciously attacked by a gang in Newtonabbey, Co Antrim, last night.

A man is being treated in hospital today after being viciously attacked by a gang in Newtonabbey, Co Antrim, last night.

Two men were arrested by police, who have appealed for information from witnesses.

The victim was one of a group of youths that was attacked by a number of men armed with bricks and bats on the Glenville Road at around 8.40 p.m.

He suffered a suspected broken leg, cuts and bruises when he was caught by the gang and beaten on Glengall Road.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the gang, who were travelling in three cars, pulled up beside the youths and chased them on foot.
