North Belfast DUP MP Nigel Dodds said the local community was deeply shocked.

“Residents have said that the van arrived late on Friday night, at which stage a figure was seen to be sitting in an upright position in the driver’s seat,” he said. The van remained in position over the weekend until the body was

discovered this morning lying across the front seats.

“Whatever picture emerges this death is a terrible tragedy for the man’s family and our sympathy goes out to them. The fact that the van was in place over the weekend has increased the sense of distress for local people.”
