Police in the Northern Ireland were today investigating after a 33-year-old woman was stabbed in her home in Lisburn, Co Antrim.
A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the woman is believed to have been attacked as she returned from a night out to Tirowen Drive in the town shortly before 12.30 a.m..
He said: "Her assailant stabbed her several times in the back, chest and arm. The victim is believed to have suffered a punctured lung in the attack."
A man was arrested in connection with the attack and was helping police with their inquiries.
