Police investigating the murder of 15-year-old Catholic schoolboy Thomas Devlin have raided on a number of addresses in north Belfast for the second time this week.

Thomas Devlin was stabbed five times in the back as he walked along the Somerton Road, close to his home in the north of the city, after going out to buy sweets with friends last August.

At the time, police said a sectarian motive was one of several being considered.

The PSNI searched a number of vacant flats today in the loyalist paramilitary stronghold of Mount Vernon.

Today's operation follows searches carried out on Tuesday when police seized several items for examination.

Detectives have said the prime suspects in the inquiry were two young men seen with a black and white dog.

Although several people have been questioned about the Belfast Royal Academy student's murder, no one has been charged.
