Police investigating the murder of a Catholic schoolboy in north Belfast last year have carried out a number of searches in a loyalist estate near where the boy was killed.
Thomas Devlin (15) was stabbed to death in Belfast after going out to buy sweets with friends last August.
He was stabbed five times in the back during the attack as he walked along the Somerton Road, close to his home in the north of the city. At the time, police said a sectarian motive was one of several being considered.
The PSNI confirmed today that they were carrying out searches in the loyalist paramilitary stronghold of Mount Vernon.
Detectives have said the prime suspects in the inquiry were two young men seen with a black and white dog.
Although several people have been questioned about the Belfast Royal Academy student's murder, no one has been charged.
