The rape of more than a dozen children, including a five-month-old baby - the third infant rape in a month - at the weekend in South Africa, provoked another public outcry yesterday.
Children's rights activists and political leaders demanded urgent action from the government, while Johannesburg daily newspapers featured headlines that read: "Outrage over rape carnage", "Another rape shock" and "How my five-month-old was raped".
A five-month-old baby, a one-year-old baby and at least 15 other children were raped over the weekend, newspapers reported.
