Families Against Intimidation and Terror (FAIT) has expressed disgust at the most recent punishment-style shooting carried out by loyalist paramilitaries in Belfast.

A 29-year-old man was yesterday recovering in hospital from gunshot wounds to his legs. He was found at 9.10 p.m. in an alleyway between Kitchener Drive and Pembroke Street in the Donegall Road area.

"Barely a day after the Omagh remembrance service and loyalist paramilitaries have shown their response by brutally shooting this man," said Mr Glynn Roberts, a spokesman for FAIT.
